Not like any Blackbird I know, seem blue grey and brown, but you are so clever to get him to puff up like that to fill the frame, I Love it, it is so CUTE!
I think it is Mrs Blackbird, the females are a bit browner than the males. It could also be because I took the photo through a window.
And yes, it took a lot of training that puffing up 🙂
Great details on the feathers. All kidding aside, I really like that he is puffed up. Makes you wonder what ruffled his feathers.
Great shot! I think he is trying to make himself bigger to fit the frame too!!! So much detail even through the window. Well done.
This is such a great shot – lots of color and detail! I sure wouldn’t have known it was through glass.
A blackbird?! Great shot! Wonderful clarity especially shooting through a window.
Just stunning! I love the way he stands out against that yellow background. Good job on the Friday Photowalk Tip too – filling the frame really works great here.
I somehow missed this fantastic picture…I am glad you posted it as your favorite of the month…what a cutie!
Wonderful and I’m glad too that you linked it as your favorite. Hope that puffing up kept it warm. I wouldn’t have known it was through glass either, well done!
Wonderful…the expression on his little face is priceless, and the snowflakes add a little something special. Thanks for sharing this as your Feb. Show and Tell!
Great image, a definite favorite. Talk about trying to stay warm.
This is a great shot, the clarity is just outstanding! The soft colors just add to this shot. Would be a favorite of mine as well.
Lovely image…he looks so cold. I know birds will puff themselves up when they are unhealthy to make themselves look bigger and less attainable to predators. I hope he is just staying warm 🙂
I think I need to move my feeder a little closer to my window…
